WalkItOff (“the App”) is a personal walking and weight tracking app published by Tideweld Software, a sole proprietorship based in Nova Scotia, Canada (“we”, “us”). Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
The App collects only the information you choose to enter. This includes:
- Personal details: name, gender, date of birth, height, and current weight
- Health and fitness data: daily step counts, treadmill session details, and weight check-ins
- Goal information: target weight and weekly loss pace
The App does not collect your email address, phone number, or any account credentials. It does not require you to create an account.
2. How Your Information Is Stored
All data you enter is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party controlled by WalkItOff.
The App opts out of Android’s automatic cloud backup, so your data is not copied to your Google account. Use “Export Backup” in Profile settings to keep your own copy.
3. Data Sharing
WalkItOff does not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties. Your fitness and health information stays on your device.
4. Notifications
The App uses local notifications (check-in reminders) that are scheduled on your device. These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve sending any data to external servers.
5. Children’s Privacy
WalkItOff is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because all data stays on the device, we cannot see or access it; if a child under 13 has used the App, the data can be removed with “Reset All Data” or by uninstalling the App.
6. Your Choices
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you are in full control. You can:
- Delete all your data at any time using the “Reset All Data” option in the App’s Profile settings
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data from your device
- Export a backup of your data using the “Export Backup” option in Profile settings
7. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
